About Me

Inspiring my work as a writer, editor and teacher is an enduring passion for culture and the arts, which I've about since 1996, contributing features, reviews and travelogues to numerous publications. My first novel is a work in progress. Previously assistant editor at a Montreal publishing house, I now work as a freelancer with various magazines, companies and organizations, editing various types of texts, including literary manuscripts and academic texts.
Born of mixed Persian/European-Canadian heritage, I have lived at the crossroads of East and West, visiting as many countries as I can. I’ve experienced a diversity of sounds, scents, flavors and artistic forms of expression, all informing my consciousness and creative sensibilities. Jerusalem remains at my core; a mosaic of ethnicities, religions and cultures, where every stone, every tree and every grain of sand resonates with a deep sense of history. I am now based in Montreal, a fascinating multicultural, multi-ethnic city with its own singular history and heritage.
When not engaged with words, images, sounds and ideas, I practice and teach Chinese external & internal martial arts (Kung Fu, Qi Gong and Tai Chi), as well as healing arts.
